Get matched with Draftsperson/CADD Contractors
Whether you are remodeling an older home or building a new home, one key component is a blueprint from which the work will be done. In order to get a blueprint for planning or bidding purposes, it is a good idea to hire a draftsperson. Draftspersons work only with turning plans into a blueprint, and are rarely involved in design, although they can provide valuable advice on design aspects. Although draftspersons usually work with a designer, if you already have a very clear idea for a floor plan, you may be able to find a draftsperson who can make a blueprint without a designer. Draftspersons are also quite adept at satisfying local building codes in order to get a building permit.

Draftspersons typically work with a type of program called CADD (Computer Aided Drafting and Design) that allows them to accurately depict a home design, taking into account materials, size, depth, elevations, etc. CADD software allows draftspersons to create 3D renderings and drafting. Draftspersons used to do all of this by hand, but computer programs like CADD make it a much easier and accurate process. CADD is typically used for larger commercial and governmental jobs, but can also be used on single-family residences.
